WE'RE IN YOURS MAGAZINE

Yours magazine

Regular readers of our blog and social media posts will have seen us some weeks ago being "shot" for a national magazine - well now we're in print and feature in an article about our blogging.

Yours magazine is aimed at the over 50s, so that fits quite neatly with who we are, and the age group we hope will be interested in what we do and wear.

The article tends to focus on our fashion side of blogging, but we also love to write about where we visit and go for holidays as you will see if you are regular readers of ours.

Since the article appeared we are delighted to see that the visits to our blog have increased, and we hope that if you are a new visitor you enjoy reading about us.  Further details about who we are appear at the bottom of the blog under "About us".

We set up this blog because we couldn't find very much for our age group (60+) that is UK based - although there seems to be lots of style/travel bloggers in the USA and in Australia, so if you are a UK-based blogger who writes similar articles for over 60s, then we would love you to make contact with us.  If you enjoy reading what we write, please also give us some feedback using the comment section as we are interested to hear from like-minded bloggers.

One of the shops which featured in the article was Covet in Ilkley, and we think it's such a lovely shop that we have taken a few photos of our own so that you can take a peek at what they sell, which is an eclectic mix of homeware and clothes.  Unfortunately our trip back proved a little expensive as we ended up spending money while we were taking pictures, but they were kind enough to let us snap away!

The Little Teahouse was also featured and is a favourite spot of ours for a cuppa or a light lunch - I have said before that we are not generally Ladies who Lunch (we wish!) but it's nice to visit when we're in Ilkley.

Yours magazine photo shoot

So while we were out and about in Ilkley, we strolled in the sunshine, and called in for a bite to eat and did some window shopping.

Anne C (left) is wearing what her daughter calls her pink marshmallow coat  from Matalan (she has names for quite a few of them, some not very flattering), over a pink chiffon blouse bought in TK Maxx, pink scarf, which was a gift, and  M&S black trousers, sunglasses are from Lipsy at Avon.  An earlier picture also shows long necklace from Phase Eight.

Anne H is wearing skinny jeans from Acne, a 'crombie' style wool navy coat with patterned navy scarf both from Cos and some very snazzy shoes by Kenzo - see larger picture further down.  Sunglasses are from Tom Ford and handbag from Loxley.... shoes, bag and sunglasses all "borrowed" from Anne's daughter Lizzy from Shotfromthestreet.  Thank you Lizzy.

Anne H's luxe Kenzo shoes are shown in detail on the left, while Anne C wears suede boots with glitter heel from New Look, bought via ASOS.  Sadly neither of these are now available.

  1. Congratulations ladies! I love Ilkley - I was born and brought up just a few miles away near Skipton, such a beautiful area. You were lucky to have such a sunny day for the shoot - both looking lovely and flying the flag for those of us who still want to look good in our 50s, 60s and beyond. I think there is a bit of a revolution starting in the fashion world and designers are beginning (hopefully) to notice that there is a new generation of women who have no wish to slide into style oblivion. Look forward to seeing you on the TV!

  2. Thank you so much Astrid and lovely to hear from you. Skipton is also a lovely part of the world and we do occasionally visit there too. We are lucky liviing in Yorkshire with beautiful countryside as well as great cities. We are going to be writing a couple of features on Leeds and Harrogate in the near future as well as our forthcoming holiday travels.
